Rainbow vs. Barry at 5:55 p.m. on Friday
By JOHN E. BIALAS
Broadmoor Bureau Chief
During my 4.5-mile walk on Friday, I never planned to stroll from Second Street to the front of the Courtyard by Marriott in Gulfport.
I'm glad I did, even though it was rainy and windy because of Barry, the tropical storm that became a hurricane as it moved inland near Intracoastal City, La., at midday Saturday.
I saw this scene over the Mississippi Sound, walked across Highway 90 to the beach and shot a 15-second video before heading back home to Broadmoor.
